Basic Environmental Health Program The School of Public Health and NYSDOH Center for Environmental Health partner to provide mandatory training to environmental health professionals. Capital District Regional College Consortium on Alcohol and Other Drugs This group consists of representatives from local colleges and service agencies in the community. Center for Health Workforce Studies The Center collects, tracks, analyzes, interprets, and disseminates information about health professionals at the national, state, and local levels. Center for Public Health Preparedness The Center for Public Health Preparedness provides emergency preparedness training, resources, and assistance to public health professionals and community partners. Center for Public Health Preparedness Web-based Coursework Preparedness web-based coursework was developed in partnership with the Professional Development Program at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs Evidence-based Public Health Training Evidence-based Public Health Training provides experience to local health practitioners in developing programs based on sound scientific principles. Hogarty Family Foundation Lectures A public lecture program on a range of cancer-related topics is offered through UAlbany's Cancer Research Center. Humanities Institute for Lifelong Learning & OASIS Programs and Public Libraries and Museums Faculty teach courses and deliver lectures in various community settings. Institute for the Advancement of Healthcare Management The New York Resource Center and web site offer workplace safety and health training tools. Maternal and Child Health Through collaboration, the School of Public Health provides training on current women's and children's health issues of clinical and public health significance. Northeast Public Health Leadership Institute (NEPHLI) Northeast Public Health Leadership Institute prepares emerging public health leaders through a combination of residential retreats and distance learning. Northeast Regional Forensic Institute (NERFI) Addresses the demand for trained forensic professionals and fosters the research to improve the quality and effectiveness of forensic analyses. Outbreak Investigation Training for Nursing Home Staff This training is geared toward infection control nurses and other staff in nursing homes who may be involved in investigating outbreaks. Preventive Medicine Residency Program This nationally acclaimed program, co-sponsored by the School and Department of Health, prepares physicians for leadership careers in public health. Professional Development The School of Public Health is a source of public health continuing education in New York State. Project LEARN A contractual program that provides undergraduate instruction to Albany Medical Center employees throughout the year. Public Health Leaders of Tomorrow Program (PHLOT) PHLOT provides funding for State and Local Health Department employees to seek training through academic coursework and/or leadership development initiatives. Public Health Live! — Third Thursday Breakfast Broadcasts Presents educational broadcasts each month to public healthcare workers across New York State and the United States. School of Public Health The School of Public Health links academic study to public health practice, addressing issues such as cardiac care, HIV treatment, and environmental health. Training for the Nursing Home Industry The School of Public Health in partnership with the NYSDOH and professional associations offer training seminars for nursing home professionals.
