    Institutional Review Board (IRB) - E-Mail
    Mark Muraven, Ph.D., Chair

    The IRB membership comprises University at Albany faculty, research staff, and graduate students with experience in research involving human participants. The membership also includes individuals drawn from the community (non-scientists, not affiliated with the University). 


    The Vice President for Research appoints the chair and all members. The IRB conforms to the Federal Health and Human Services regulations at 45 CFR 46.107 concerning membership.


    Full board review meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis and PIs will be notified by email of the meeting date.

     

     

     

     

     

      Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) - E-Mail
      John Schmidt, Ph.D., Chair

      The IACUC membership comprises University at Albany faculty with experience in research involving animals, the University's attending veterinarian, and individuals drawn from the community (non-scientists, not affiliated with the University.)


      The Vice President for Research appoints the chair and all members. The IACUC conforms to the general Public Health Service Policy guidelines (PHS policy at IV.A.3.B) concerning membership.


      Full board review meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis and PIs will be notified by email of the meeting date.

       


     

    Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) - E-Mail
    Douglas Conklin, Ph.D., Chair

    The IBC is comprised of members who are University at Albany faculty with experience in biohazardous materials, a non-affiliated community member, and a non-scientist member, with designated staff of the Office of Regulatory Research Compliance serving an ex-officio, advisory role.

    The Vice President for Research appoints the Chair and all members. The IBC conforms to all relevant regulations and guidelines concerning membership. IBC’s responsibilities include the inspection of all laboratories that conduct research using biohazardous materials.

    Meetings will be scheduled as needed and PIs will be notified by email of the meeting date.
