Music to Your Ears

 

Whether jazz, chamber or polyrhythmic percussion is your music of choice, you'll find all that and more in concert at UAlbany this fall. Here are just a few of the upcoming musical highlights at the Performing Arts Center:

Drums10/16 at 7 p.m. The University Symphony Orchestra presents a concert under the direction of Brett Wery. $6/$3 students

10/17 at 8 p.m. The University Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble, brings together students and community members who perform under the direction of faculty members Kevin Champagne and David Hosley. $6/$3 students

10/23 at 3 p.m. Gentlemen, old Bach is here! Performers in concert with flute, viola, harpsichord and cello. $8/$4 students

Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz, director of Musicians of Ma'alwyck and violoncellist Petia Kassarova10/27 at 8 p.m. 1790's America, performed by the chamber ensemble, Musicians of Ma'alwyck. $15 adults/ $10 seniors/$5 students

10/28 at 8 p.m. Veena & Devesh Chandra: Raga. Indian sitar and tabla music performed by this mother and son duo. $8/$4 students

Tom Burre and Joseph Reinsel10/29 at 8 p.m. Two by Two:Duet Improvisations. Percussion, computer, music and video provide a unique concert of polyrhythmic percussion and digital processing. $8/$4 students
