Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

EOP at UAlbany

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at the University at Albany provides admission opportunities for economically and educationally disadvantaged undergraduate students who are residents of New York State.

More than 4,500 students have graduated from UAlbany EOP since the program launched over 50 years ago.

We strive to make higher education possible for students who lack the typical credentials for college admissions but who have the potential and motivation to succeed academically. Our students receive the academic services and support they need to excel in whichever major they choose.

While students are expected to support themselves financially as much as possible, UAlbany also recognizes that most EOP students require nearly full financial support. Grants, scholarships and loans are available to EOP students, and the program also offers social and personal support.

To qualify for admission to EOP, you must be a New York State resident, possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, and meet academic and financial eligibility requirements.

Please visit Undergraduate Admission’s EOP page for detailed information on eligibility requirements and application instructions.

We rely on New York State and federal funding to keep providing critical services to EOP students.

Since those appropriations are vulnerable to cutbacks, we encourage you to consider donating to UAlbany EOP. Your financial support is key to the retention and graduation for all students.
