UAlbany, Laroche says, “prepared me well for law school and the legal profession. I was lucky to have the opportunity to study under a number of professors who had also practiced law. One in particular, James Acker, became my mentor. Professor Acker was very influential in my career path, and I still consider him a source of guidance and support to this day.”

Adds Laroche: “The University offers countless opportunities, and I took advantage of many of them. Two stand out. I played Division I-AA football for Coach Bob Ford. Playing for him was an honor, and many of the players on the team remain some of my closest friends to this day. I also participated in UAlbany’s moot-court program under Professor Acker; our team was very successful, winning a regional tournament and reaching the semi-finals of a national competition. That experience ultimately shaped my decision to pursue a law degree.”
