Autism Graduate Certificate Program

This certificate is a three course (9 credits) sequence that focuses on the characteristics of autism spectrum disorders and the science of applied behavior analysis.  Empirically-validated techniques used to treat individuals with autism, as well as cultural, ethical, and practical issues, will be highlighted. The three-course sequence provides the credit bearing coursework to partially meet the education requirement and the supervised experience requirement necessary for admission to the licensing examination for certified behavior analyst assistant (CBAA) with the NYS Education Department.

Psy 519 (3) Autism I: Introduction to the Science of Behavior and Applied Behavior Analysis
Psy 520 (3) Autism II: Introduction to Intervention
Psy 521 (3) Autism III: Practicum in Intervention

This program is not eligible for federal financial aid.

Please note: This program requires an internship, field experience, study abroad component, or clinical experience requirement. Students who have previously been convicted of a felony are advised that their prior criminal history may impede their ability to complete the requirements of certain academic programs and/or to meet licensure requirements for certain professions.
