The address format that is used on your incoming mail determines the speed in which Mail Services can get that mail to your box. If the address information on the mail piece is insufficient and mail facility staff have to research your correct address, your mail will be delayed. The proper address format for receiving mail at the University is:
NAME
QUAD NAME & BOX#
1400 WASHINGTON AVE
ALBANY, NY 12222
If this format is not used, mail will be delayed. Please notify all correspondents of this address format to ensure that you receive mail in a timely manner.
If a sender allows only three lines for your delivery address, the following format may be used:
NAME
1400 WASHINGTON AVE Q# (where Q is the first initial of your quad and # is your box number)
ALBANY, NY 12222
Use the following initials for your quad. Alumni Quad requires the use of the quad initial, plus the first initial of your residential building.
C = Colonial
D = Dutch
E = Empire
F = Freedom
I = Indian
S = State
AA = Alumni Alden
AP = Alumni Pierce
AS = Alumni Sayles
AW = Alumni Waterbury
