Stamped mail can be deposited in the purple and gold collection cans located under the center arch of Dutch, Colonial, State and Indian quads, in the stamped mail slot near the coffee cafe in the Empire Commons Community Center, or in the green collection can located near the bank in the Campus Center. Mail can also be dropped in the two green collection cans located near the main mail facility in the Business Administration building. Mail Services empties all stamped mail cans Monday-Friday at 2:30 PM. The mail is then picked up by the U.S. Postal Service from Mail Services at 3:00 PM.
For students at Freedom Quad, a USPS collection can for stamped mail is located outside the quad office. At Alumni Quad, a mail collection bin is located in Waterbury Hall by the mailboxes.
If you require mailing services, the closest postal station to the University at Albany campus is located in Stuyvesant Plaza Shopping Center, 1475 Western Avenue, at the corner of Fuller Road and Western Avenue. The station's hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Their phone number is 438-5135.
Another Post Office is the Colonie Center Mall station, at Central Avenue (Route 5) and Wolf Road, phone number 458-1859. The station's hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM, and Sunday 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
