Student Mail Services: Stamps
Check out the new Postal Kiosk for purchasing stamps or postage using a credit or debit card.
Stamps are also sold at the University Bookstore. Stamps are sold in books of books of 20 ($9.20)or you can purchase a pre-stamped envelopes.
Stamped mail can be deposited in the tan collection cans located under the center arch of Dutch, Colonial, State and Indian quads. Mail from these cans is picked-up at 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday. If you live at Empire Commons there is a mail slot in the wall and the mail is picked-up at 9:30 AM, Monday thorugh Friday. If you live on Alumni Quad there is a mail slot in Waterbury near the main entrance. Mail is picked-up 10 AM, Monday through Friday. Mail can also be dropped in the collection cans located on the Academic Podium at the following locations; near the main mail facility in the Business Administration building, outside the Social Sciences building (entrance across from Business Administration), outside the University Bookstore and outside the University Art Museum. Mail is picked-up from these cans at 2:30 PM.
Mail pieces that are more than 13 ounces will not fit in the collection cans. For mail pieces over 13 ounces you may either:
- If the piece has a University at Albany return address bring it to Mail Services for mailing; or
- If the piece does not have a University at Albany return address it must be brought to a Post Office.
Mail Services will not accept pieces that are more than 13 ounces that do not have a University at Albany return address.
International mail other than letters may require customs forms.

For students at Freedom Quad, a USPS collection can for stamped mail is located outside the quad office.
