Student Mail Services: Stamps
Stamps are currently being sold in the University Bookstore. Stamps are sold in books of 10 ($4.40), 20 ($8.80) and as a pre-stamped envelope ($0.54). Mail Services can provide you with the correct amount of postage required on the item you are mailing. Once the correct postage is applied it can be sent to the U.S. Postal Service through the mail facility.
Stamped mail can be deposited in the purple and gold collection cans located under the center arch of Dutch, Colonial, State and Indian quads, in the stamped mail slot near the coffee cafe in the Empire Commons Community Center, or in the collection can located by the bookstore. Mail can also be dropped in the collection cans located near the main mail facility in the Business Administration building. Mail Services empties all stamped mail cans Monday-Friday at 2:30 PM.
Mail pieces that are more than 13 ounces will not fit in the collection cans. For mail pieces over 13 ounces you may either:
- If the piece has a University at Albany return address bring it to Mail Services for mailing; or
- If the piece does not have a University at Albany return address it must be brought to a Post Office.
Mail Services will not accept pieces that are more than 13 ounces that do not have a University at Albany.

For students at Freedom Quad, a USPS collection can for stamped mail is located outside the quad office. At Alumni Quad, a mail collection bin is located in Waterbury Hall by the mailboxes.
