Information Technology Services is pleased to announce that a major upgrade of the University's enterprise course management system, WebCT, is currently underway. In the spring of 2006, upon completion of a merger with WebCT, Inc., Blackboard, Inc. began rebranding their products with their company name and logo. Therefore, the University will be moving from WebCT version 4.1 to Blackboard Learning System CE Enterprise License (BLS), formerly WebCT Campus Edition 6.
This web site is designed to share information about the upgrade with the University community. Please check back regularly for updated information as we move forward with the project.
Upgrade Timeline
The Blackboard Learning System CE application will be tested first in two pilot projects, during the summer and fall 2007 semesters and then will be rolled out for production in the spring 2008 semester. Until the campus-wide rollout occurs, WebCT 4.1 and BLS CE will be used simultaneously. WebCT 4.1 will be retired, and therefore no longer accessible, after the fall 2007 semester.
