Online BLS Training
In addition to face-to-face training sessions that will be hosted by Information Technology Services, the University has licensed two online training courses to be used by the University teaching community as they begin working with Blackboard Learning System CE. The online, self-paced courses include a practice course that faculty can use for the training course's hands on activities. The following online training courses will be available.
Designing Your Course
- Modify Course Tools and the Home Page
- Create discussion topics, chat rooms, Web Links, and content pages
- Add new and existing content to the Home Page and other folders
- Customize the look of a course
- Build learning modules and media library collections
- Evaluate an existing course, and develop an action plan for continued improvement
Creating and Managing Assignments and Assessments
- Create groups and group sign-up sheets to use in collaborative assignments
- Develop grading forms to use when evaluating assignments
- Create a variety of individual and group assignments
- Grade and publish assignments
- Create a variety of question types
- Build effective quizzes and surveys
- Grade quiz results and view key statistics
Upon submitting a BLS course request, all faculty are enrolled the basic Designing Your Course workshop. If you would like to be enrolled in the Assignments and Assessmens session, please contact blshelp@albany.edu.
