Wired Network

Description

ITS installs, manages and operates a robust wired network providing high speed access to the Internet and the University's electronic resources. Faculty and staff can connect to the University network from off-campus locations using VPN, UAlbany's Virtual Private Network.The University is a  member of Internet2, which provides access to the robust network used by researchers, academics and other leaders from around the world. 

To use the campus wired network, both university and personal machines must be registered by their primary users.
