Telephone Services
Description
ITS provides telephone and voicemail services to faculty/staff on all three campuses, including 911 and BlueLight Phone Emergency services. All office phones can make on-campus and local calls; an administrator in your area will provide a phone security code if you are authorized to make long distance calls. Voicemails can be retrieved from your private, password-protected mailbox from any touch-tone phone. You may also opt-in to receive voicemail messages via email.Directory Assistance
Dial "0" on campus or (518) 442-3300 from off-campus locations for directory assistance. The University's main switchboard is staffed by an operator Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. If the operator is not available, an automated directory system will route your call. Simply say the name of the person or office you are trying to reach and you will be connected automatically.
911 and BlueLight Phone Emergency Services
The University Police Department responds to 911 calls on the Main and Downtown campuses; local police respond on the East Campus. BlueLight phones are located all around the University grounds and ring directly to the University Police Dispatcher. Both of these services provide immediate access to policy, fire and emergency medical services.
