Group Services
Description
Group accounts provide departments or teams to share a variety of IT resources, including Departmental UAlbany Mail accounts, Room Calendar Accounts, shared folders (often referred to as the U: or V: drive), UNIX departmental file and web space, and access to the University's virtual private network (VPN). ITS can also issue generic NetIDs and passwords that will provide authorized inidviduals outside the University community with access to appropriate resources.
Faculty and staff may request certain services on their own; in other cases, requests must be facilitated by the departmental CSS-UAD Contact. All our Accounts forms include instructions on who can request particular services.
