Securing and keeping your PC secure:

The tools pages are designed to help University at Albany students, faculty, and staff become familiar with various security applications.

The tools are divided into the following 3 categories of user's expertise:

  • Beginners
  • Advanced
  • Expert

Tools in the Beginners category satisfy most basic information security needs, and are useful regardless of experience level.

Tools in the Advanced and Expert categories can cause harm to the normal operation of your computer if used improperly. Before using any tools, we recommend that you read the instructions and other documentation available on each of the individual tool's websites.
