In order to make it easier for our customers to migrate to Wi-Fi Protected Access (UA_WPA), ITS will broadcast both UA_WPA and UAlbanyWiFi (which uses VPN) on its wireless equipment beginning January 3, 2008.

UA_WPA is the preferred method for accessing the network due to its enhanced security, increased speed and integration with most operating systems. UAlbanyWiFi will remain available throughout the Spring 2008 semester. It will be discontinued at the conclusion of the term, when all customers will access the wireless network using UA_WPA.
