Summary: Adobe systems has released updates for versions 7.x and 8.x of its popular Acrobat and Reader products. Versions 7.1.0 and 8.1.2 address critical security vulnerabilities that could (if successfully exploited) result in a range of unfavorable outcomes including program crash and complete takeover of a vulnerable computer.
Adobe is recommending all users (7 and 8) upgrade to version 8.1.2 if possible. For users who cannot or choose not to use version 8.x of these Adobe products it is recommended they upgrade to version 7.10.
Recommended Actions: Adobe products users, system administrators, and desktop support personnel are encouraged to read the security bulletin (safe link provided below) and apply the appropriate updates at their earliest convenience.
