As a result of the measures ITS has taken to protect client computers from being compromised, the ability for Windows XP systems to view or preview thumbnail images by using the Windows Picture & Fax Viewer has been disabled.

There is a simple work-around for this issue; in order to view image files with another application, you will need to:

• Right Click on the image file
• Then, select the Open with option and choose another application like MS Office Picture Manager, Photo Editor, or Paint and you can view the image.

If these instructions do not enable you to view image files, please contact your Technical Coordinator or the ITS Help Desk for assistance. This is a temporary measure that will be reversed after Microsoft has released its patch.
