ITS UNIX Cluster Mail Server Information

The following table contains the basic information necessary to configure any local email program (e.g. Mozilla Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook) to download email from an University email account via the IMAP or POP protocols.

Incoming server (imap & pop)	imap.albany.edu
Outgoing (smtp) Server	smtp.albany.edu (when connected to the UAlbany network)
Outgoing (smtp) server for residential students	albany-mailer.apogeenet.net (when connected to the Apogee network)
Outgoing (smtp) server for off-campus users	Contact your ISP for smtp server*

                               

*When using an Internet Service Provider (ISP), such as RoadRunner, Verizon, or EarthLink, off-campus users must contact their ISP for the outgoing SMTP server information.
