Congratulations to Michael Dzikowski, EAS, for receiving The Chief's Award, presented by Chief Wiley. This award is given for demonstrated professionalism and meritorious achievement for his commitment and diligence with the transition of the UPD department servers, integration of the body worn camera software and information technology support. In addition, Michael is the first non-UPD University employee to receive this award.                           

Significant Network Upgrade in Residence Halls
This fall, residential students will see significant improvements in connectivity. Internet speeds have increased from 10Mb/s inbound and 1Mb/s outbound to 75Mb/s for all network traffic. The service can be shared across 5 devices instead of 3. These improvements are the result of a partnership between the Department of Residential Life, ITS and Apogee, Inc.

Blackboard is Getting a Makeover!
Blackboard has a new look. On August 22, Blackboard’s system theme was be modified to provide a more up-to-date visual interface that also helps ensure compatibility with and prepare for future system updates. While the new theme improves the visual impact of the system, you can continue to use Blackboard in the same manner as before. To check out the new look, login to Blackboard or visit Blackboard Theme Update 2016.

Phishing: Don't Ask, Don't Tell
Earlier this month, several members of the campus community fell victim to a phishing message threatening the loss of their account unless they clicked on a link requesting their NetID and password. The University will never ask for your password, or threaten the loss of services requiring you to submit your credentials.
