Does the University offer mail filtering?

The University offers some automatic mail filtering on any @albany.edu (UNIX) and @uamail.albany.edu (Exchange) email account.  Messages processed by our mail server are assigned a SPAM score.  A message scored at 15 or higher is almost certainly spam, and is deleted rather than delivered to your mailbox. This practice better utilizes our network and mail server resources.

To reduce the amount of SPAM that arrives in your Inbox, implement spam filtering on your mail account.  You can also create rules to filter messages meeting your specified criteria.

WebMail users: If you are not going to read your UNIX mail for an extended period of time, you may want to setup a vacation or 'Out-of-Office' rule in WebMail.
