PCs in University computer classrooms are equipped with two types of shared network drives where faculty and students can share their files.

A collaboration between ITS and the Library to provide technical and reference assistance in designated computer labs that include a suite of software applications. The Virtual Information Commons provides remote access the the same suite of software..

Safe Assign
This plagiarism prevention service offered by Blackboard helps discourage plagiarism by detecting unoriginal content in student papers. In addition to serving as a deterrent, SafeAssign has features that educate students about the importance of providing proper attribution of any borrowed content. Hosted by Blackboard, SafeAssign is integrated with UAlbany's Blackboard Learning System through a Blackboard PowerLink.

Technology-Enhanced Classrooms
Most Registrar-scheduled classrooms on the Main and Downtown Campuses are permanently installed with a lectern full of easily accessible instructional technology equipment for faculty use.

Software Available on Public Computers
University-licensed software is available in all Registrar-scheduled Smart and Technology Classrooms and the Information Commons. Most of these software programs can be accessed from off-campus using the Virtual Information Commons. Faculty may request the installation of additional software packages.

Test Scanning Services
ITS scans bubble sheet exams and surveys administered in academic courses. To have an exam or survey scanned, complete a request form and deliver it to the Test Scanning Customer Service Counter in CS-7. Requests are processed within 3 business days.
