WELCOME TO VPN ACCESS AT THE UNIVERSITY AT ALBANY
You must be a member of the University Community to use this service. This service is intended for members of the University who need to access their University Windows Network Access folders from an off-campus location. Executing the VPN Client creates a secure connection over the Internet that allows you access to your University Windows Network Access folders. Through this connection, transmissions are encrypted to prevent unauthorized capture of data.
You must use your Internet Service Provider to connect to the internet and once connected, you can run the VPN (Virtual Private Network) client. We strongly suggest using an ISP that offers broadband services. Dialup connections may be significantly slower.
Your VPN connection will require the use of your Windows Network Access netid and Windows Network Access password. You will need to know these before proceeding.
You will also need VPN software (Virtual Private Network) on your computer titled, "UAlbany VPN Client". When you start this software, the first screen you will see looks like this:

If you know your NetID and Windows Network Access password and have already downloaded and installed the latest VPN client software, run that VPN client now.
Please Note: Installing the VPN client on a computer that is not the property of the University at Albany does not obligate the University to provide technical support for the computer.
