Fraudulent Resquest for University Passwords from "Sandra Andrews"

A mass email was received by the University early Sunday morning, June 1st, requesting students and staff to confirm their accounts by replying to the message with their passwords. The message was signed by a "Sandra Andrews," a non-existent employee at the University [see www.albany.edu/whois]. The reply-to address was faked to look like it came from onlineservices@albany[dot]edu. In fact, the real reply-to address was albany@instructor[dot]net.
The University never asks students and staff to comfirm their passwords. Passwords should be kept confidential and never shared.
