Outbreak of AIM-Related Viruses

The University has been experiencing an outbreak of AIM-related viruses that students have been contracting by clicking on links in the away messages of their buddies.

Here is a sample of the kind of link students see:

Students are advised to be very careful when clicking on links in their AIM Buddies' away messages.

Under no circumstances should you click on any links that end in .pif. For additional help in removing AIM viruses, you can visit the ResNet web pages at http://resnet.albany.edu/security/patches_tools.shtml for a link to a site that offers free AIM virus removal tools.
