Check UNIX Space Usage

Step 1  WebMail space  

To checking the amount of UNIX E-mail space used in WebMail, simply logon to WebMail. The percentage of space used is displayed at the top of the left-hand menu bar.  A colored bar in green for good, yellow for caution, and red for nearly over quota is displayed.

Step 2  UNIX mail space  

As an alternative to checking your UNIX mail space using WebMail, you can also check after logon to UNIX. On the command line type:

checkmailquota

You will be prompted to enter your UNIX password for authentication purposes. Output will appear as follows:

Username usage quota
  userid          325 10240  3.17% quota used.

For help with this command while you are logged in, type man checkmailquota

Step 3  UNIX account space  

To check the amount of UNIX account space used (note you have separate allocations for mail and UNIX account space), logon to UNIX. On the command line type:
quota -v

Output will appear as follows:

Disk quotas for username (uid #####)
 Filesystem  usage  quota  limit  timeleft  files  quota  limit timeleft
 /home1          0      1      1                0      1      1
 /home2       4973  20000  20050              109  20000  20050
 
For help on this command while you are logged in, type man quota.
