Policy Review Board

The Policy Review Board (PRB) is composed of faculty, staff and students.  Membership is typically 8-12 individuals, including the chair. Interest or expertise in policy development and university governance are helpful. Undergraduates in the humanities are especially welcome.  The PRB receives draft information technology policy statements for review, revision and recommendation to the CIO.  Policy proposals are accepted from any member of the University community. The Office of the CIO needs detailed information in order to move a proposal forward. For more information, please contact cio@albany.edu.  Draft proposals are reviewed by the PRB Chair and the Office of the CIO. Those accepted for review are shared with a variety of stakeholders before the PRB makes a final recommendation. The President or Provost must approve all new policies.

The PRB has two undergraduate and two graduate student members. All positions are currently filled, but there are other ways for students to participate. Contact cio@albany.edu for more information.    Please visit Policy Definitions and Terms for detailed information on how how ITS defines policies and policy-related terms.
