Graduate Assistantships Available - Summer and Fall 2009

SUMMER 2009 STUDENT ASSISTANTSHIP AVAILABLE

Information Technology Services, Faculty Technology Resources

Support UAlbany course management software, Blackboard Learning System CE 6.  Duties include assisting with program administration, providing end user support services to staff, faculty and TAs through workshops, documentation, one-on-one and telephone support.

Qualifications: Graduate student; Strong communication skills (oral and written); Excellent organizational skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to interpret client needs and produce instructional materials; Ability to adapt and learn new procedures and software programs; Must be enterprising, diplomatic, and proactive at solving problems.

Technical Skills: Understanding of various operating systems, directory structures, file formats, and protocols; Good working knowledge of software programs that produce files that can be accessed through Blackboard (word processing, spread sheet, presentations, graphics, web page, and multimedia); Knowledge of web design principles and usability standards.

Preferred: Experience supporting course management software, software instruction, and/or working at a technical support helpdesk

Requirements: 37.5 hours per week

Remuneration: $12 per hour

Position is available May 18 – August 30, 2009.

Requirements: Graduate student; 20 hours per week; candidates must be enrolled in full-time study (9 credits/semester), and not hold other employment in the university while on the assistantship

Remuneration: Stipend and a tuition waiver of up to 9 credits

Position is available starting August 31, 2009.  If not filled on that date, the semester stipend will be prorated based on actual start date.
