How to Apply for Fall Housing

Housing is assigned based upon date of receipt of your housing application. Housing is not guaranteed. The online housing application is available via your MyUAlbany account.

Note: You must activate your NetID in order to access your MyUAlbany account. (Once you have been accepted to IELP, the ITS department will mail you a PIN number and instructions on how to activate your NetID, your MyUAlbany account, and your UAlbany email account.)

Housing Deposit:

Before you begin, you must post a $125 Housing Deposit to your student account in order to be assigned to housing on campus.

Payment can be made at http://epay.albany.edu.

Log in to this site with your NetID and password. Look at the top of the page. Click on "DEPOSITS" and choose "Housing Deposit." Pay with a credit card.

Completing your Housing Application:

STEP 1. Go to www.albany.edu/myualbany. Sign in with your NetID and password. Once logged in, scroll down and to the lower left. You will see a section entitled Meal Plans and Housing. Click the “HOUSING APPLICATION” link. Fill out the application as applicable to you.

Note that this housing contract is for one academic year (Fall 2010-Spring 2011), not for one semester. Students cannot move out of the dorm in December unless they are leaving the university.

We suggest that IELP students request dorms with Recess Housing -- housing which remains open during breaks. This request can be made in the "Comments" section.

STEP 2. To include a roommate preference on the application, you will need your potential roommate’s NetID and your potential roommate will need yours. A NetID is assigned to you when you activate your MyUAlbany account. The NetID is part of your UAlbany email address - netid@albany.edu. Please note that roommate requests should be made by both parties and will be honored based upon AVAILABILITY of space and timeliness of request. There is no guarantee that the request can be honored. Suitemate requests cannot be accepted.

STEP 3.SAVE” the application when prompted to do so, otherwise it will not be received by the Office of Residential Life. Print a copy for your records. There is no need to send a copy to UAlbany. Once you click “SAVE” you cannot make changes to the application.

Important Housing Dates:
Early August: Students will be notified of their housing assignments via email to their UAlbany email account. Check your UAlbany email at https://webmail.albany.edu

Check your housing confirmation email for the last day to cancel your housing contract and receive a deposit refund. You must contact the Department of Residential Life in writing at Reslife@albany.edu.

Thursday, August 26 - Monday, August 30: Check into the dorm between 9:00a.m. and 5:00p.m.
