Masters Programs

ETAP offers a variety of masters programs for candidates with different goals and experiences.

General Masters Programs

Master of Science in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology (CDIT)
This program is designed for those who wish to extend their expertise in curriculum and instruction, and for those with an interest in instructional design and technology. This program can be completed either through classroom-based or online coursework. CDIT is now classfied as a "related program" for purposes of professional certification, and students are no longer required to take 12 credits in the content area. Students can apply for professional certification with the CDIT degree through transcript review.

This program provides interdisciplinary graduate study for those who wish to teach English as a second language or English as a foreign language (EFL) in adult, college-level, or overseas situations. A related program leads to New York State initial certification in TESOL for Grades K-12 (see below).

The Master of Science in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Master of Arts in Communication Dual Degree serves the interests of students who want to teach English as a second or foreign language, and who want to enrich the foundation they have for teaching a foreign language by studying communication processes as well.

Master of Science in General Education Studies (GES)
This master's degree program is designed to allow students to explore a wide variety of aspects of educational theory and practice.
