The Fire and Life Safety team, a division of the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, promotes and supports a safety-conscious campus through professional consultation, education, training and delivery of services designed to provide a fire safe environment for the University at Albany community.
Meet the Team
Gregory Amyot, Fire Protection Supervisor
Greg Amyot is a graduate of LaSalle Institute and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the College of Saint Rose. His career in Emergency Services began in 1997, and continues today. Amyot is trained and certified as a NYS Firefighter, AEMT-I, Fire Inspector level II (Code Enforcement Officer), Fire and Explosion Investigator level II, Fire Instructor Level 1, Confined Space Rescue Technician, and Hazardous Materials Technician. Amyot belongs to The Capital District Chapter of NYSBOC, The International Codes Committee, The NYS Association of Fire Chiefs, The Capital District Fire Investigators Association, NYS Fire Investigators, International Association of Arson Investigators and he chairs The Capital District Campus Fire Safety Officer’s Group.
Michael Drosky, Electrician
Mike Drosky was an electrician with the Federal Department of Defense, and NYS OGS prior to coming to work for SUNY Albany EH&S in November of 2002. As the Life Safety Electrician, Drosky is responsible for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Emergency Lighting and Fire Suppression systems. He holds an AOS degree in Electrical Construction Maintenance and is a Licensed Master Electrician. He is NYS certified Code Enforcement Officer, and has a certification from the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
