ALBANY - Assemblyman Jack McEneny is reminded of the health care difficulties many local minorities face each time he attends a funeral at Graceland Cemetery, where much of Albany's black population is buried. "I look at some of the graves. I see people younger than me," McEneny, 61, said Thursday at an event establishing a center at the University at Albany to research minority health care. "I think: `My God, I knew them. They passed away already?' "

ALBANY - A new research center focusing on minority health care will be unveiled Thursday at the University at Albany. Funded by a three-year, $1.24 million federal grant, the center's faculty will look into why minorities get sicker - and die younger - than whites.
