WHAT ARE MINORITY HEALTH DISPARITIES AND WHAT IS CEMHD?

Minority health disparities are serious differences in health access and outcomes experienced by racial and ethnic minorities.

CEMHD is a collaborative effort focusing on minority health disparities in the smaller cities and towns of New York.

We work toward eliminating minority health disparities by developing capacity in faculty at the University at Albany and in partnering with community groups to:

1. identify community health concerns and sources of disparities,
2. plan strategies to alleviate them,
3. and test their effectiveness.
