Flexible Degree
Options to Boost Your Career
Do you have five years to get a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree?
Students of recognized academic ability and educational maturity may earn the combined bachelor’s-master’s degrees in Information Science or Computer Science within nine or 10 semesters. Students may apply for the combined program at the beginning of the junior year or upon completion of 56 undergraduate credits. A cumulative grade point of 3.20 and letters of support are required to apply.
Would you like to apply technology to a major from another discipline?
The Informatics minor is available to students interested in the role of computing and information and the application of technology in their primary fields of study. Students in any major (outside of the Department of Information Studies) may choose the minor.
A Proud Legacy and an Exciting Future
Whether you want to solve a complex problem at work, help a community group or post a video on YouTube, you need to know how to use technology. We are living in the Information Age.
Because such a large share of the jobs in our economy depend on using computerized information, being successful requires individuals to have the latest knowledge and skills. At the College of Computing and Information (CCI), we believe in "Empowering People through Information."
In offering the highest-quality professional education at great value, we provide students with the ability to excel in today’s information-dependent world.
CCI has three integrated departments:
- Department of Computer Science
- Department of Informatics
- Department of Information Studies (previously known as the School of Information Science and Policy)
By drawing upon expertise across three disciplines, students are given a broad view of how information is created, organized, stored, manipulated, packaged, retrieved and applied.
