A Message from the Dean

The University at Albany's College of Arts and Sciences is a vibrant community comprised of exceptional faculty, dedicated students, and committed staff. Together, we strive for excellence in the pursuit of knowledge, valuing its intrinsic worth and its potential impact on society. Our College encompasses a rich tapestry of Departments, Centers, Institutes, and programs spanning the arts, basic, natural, and social sciences, humanities, technology, and more.

As the academic home to a significant portion of UAlbany's student body, our goal is to provide a nurturing environment for those seeking to expand their knowledge and understanding. Whether one's interests lie in economics, biology, theatre, atmospheric sciences, philosophy, English, sociology, or any of our three dozen majors, the College is at the forefront of innovative developments in learning, teaching, and research.

I take great pride in calling the College my home, having been a part of the Department of Psychology for over three decades. It is both an honor and a humbling experience to serve as the Dean of this College since 2019 which is deeply rooted in a tradition of research and creative engagement, poised to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the coming decade and into the distant future.
