In addition to affordable tuition and fees, graduate students at UAlbany can apply for financial assistance through fellowships, teaching assistantships and research assistantships. The vast majority of assistantship, fellowship and tuition scholarship awards are administered directly in the University’s schools and colleges by faculty and staff in each academic program. Accordingly, inquiries regarding the availability and qualification for such awards should be directed to the academic department of interest. The Graduate School provides direct assistance for prospective students throughout the application and enrollment process.

Costs are subject to change without prior notice by action of the SUNY Board of Trustees. Fee totals include the optional Student-Alumni Partnership Fee in the amount of $30. To opt-out of the fee, please complete the Student-Alumni Partnership Opt-Out Request every semester. Fee totals do not include the one-time New Student Fee ($255 for Freshmen; $115 for Transfers) charged to all new Undergraduate students or Room and/or Meal Plan charges. Graduate level Full-Time rates are shown for 12 credits. Students taking less than 12 credits will be charged at the per credit rate.
NON-DEGREE STUDENTS (NON-DEGREE UNDERGRADUATE and NON-DEGREE GRADUATE) are charged by COURSE LEVEL. The undergraduate rate is charged for courses lower than the 500-level, and the graduate rate is charged for courses at the 500-level and above.
