Talking History ~ The Radio Archive
All
of the original programs produced by Talking History are
archived on this site. Programs produced elsewhere for which we obtain
permission to archive can also be accessed here. You can link to the archived
segments by utilizing the the drop-down menu to the left and by clicking
on the RealAudio or MP3 link adjacent to each program once you arrive at
the desired archive. Shows are
approximately one hour long and typically include segments from the OAH
production center at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, Dialogue,
the University at Albany, and affiliated or independent producers (follow
link to "Producers," on the left, for more information on our contributing
producers). Segments produced for NPR satellite distribution by the OAH
are now archived at http://talkinghistory.oah.org
and segments from OAH-Talking History utilized by the SUNY-Albany
production center for WRPI-FM and WWW broadcasts are available here (in
higher fidelity). Please note that you'll need RealPlayer or MP3 compatible
software to hear the archived radio shows. Our files are optimized for
various connection speeds, but generally, if you have a 28.8 Kb/sec. or higher speed modem and the most recent version of RealPlayer, you will have no problems
listening to RealMedia program content. Faster connections permit listeners to stream
higher fidelity audio (all files produced after May of 2002 are streamed
as Surestream RealMedia files over a RealMedia server; this permits automatic
bandwidth optimization of Real file playback). MP3 files can be downloaded and played on most computers and on all MP3 players. Click here to obtain free RealPlayer
software: REAL.COM
