After your goals are established, it is a good idea to talk with your faculty advisor, your mentor, an alumnus, or someone with experience to share with you relevant guidance about your goal in relation to your fellowship and funding opportunity.

  • Faculty - Over 650 UAlbany faculty and researchers are on campus and able to share key insights and guidance on your planed educational, research or service learning project – and moreover, often can help by serving as a mentor on your proposed project.
  • Mentors/Advisors – Be sure to seek advice from both existing and new mentors. These experienced and trusted advisors often serve as a reliable source of invaluable guidance and key insights.
  • Alumni and Other Friends – UAlbany has an extensive network of over 184,000 alumni which will allow you to connect with professionals to discuss career objectives and explore career interests. These connections can help you with a letter of support, help set up an interview, share tips on interviewing, or position you for an internship with their organization or another.
