UAlbany Professor Featured in Japanese Educational Program

Akiko Hosler, assistant professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health, is a featured lecturer in the upcoming Japanese educational TV series, �Challenges in Globalization of Health.�  This 15-program series on international public health is produced by the Open University of Japan (OUJ), the largest distance-learning higher educational institution in the country.

The program series will air periodically from April 2008 through July 2012 on ground analog/digital and satellite broadcasting systems in Japan. Hosler also contributed four chapters for the program�s companion textbook.

Hosler, whose expertise includes diabetes, health disparities, and nutrition, has published more than 40 journal articles, government reports and book chapters in the United States and Japan.
