The University at Albany has embarked on a $2.4 million project to install exterior signs on its three campuses with new, easy-to-read signage. The first phase begins with new signs for the downtown campus. In the coming months new LED signs will be installed on the University's main campus that complement UAlbany's architecture. The project includes an array of signs, from campus identifiers to building signs, with the goal of having all exterior signs installed by fall 2006 semester. UAlbany President Kermit L. Hall kicked off the initiative by taking a chainsaw to the old wood sign in front of the University's downtown campus on Feb. 3, 2006.
