Robinson: "All in the Same Boat" on a Greener UAlbany
The University at Albany is buying more local produce, is reducing its use of electricity, and in general, is becoming greener, according to Associate Professor of Biological Sciences George Robinson, a co-leader of the Task Force on Environmental Sustainability.

A dozen undergraduates from the University at Albany were among 283 students across the SUNY system honored April 18 as recipients of the 2007 Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.

Student Firefighters Boost Local Force
As a University at Albany freshman on Indian Quad in 2003, Joseph Zambon observed admiringly whenever the McKownville Volunteer Fire Department responded to emergencies. A year later, as a Resident Assistant (RA), he witnessed McKownville on yet another Indian Quad call. This time, he approached a fireman and said he wanted to become a volunteer himself.

Undergraduate Research on Display April 13-14
University at Albany students will showcase their research and creative work on Friday, April 13, and Saturday, April 14, at the Undergraduate Research Conference in the Life Sciences Research Building auditorium.

College of Arts and Sciences Celebrates Research
On March 22, researchers from the College of Arts and Sciences gathered in the Standish Room of the University's Science Library for the second "Celebrating Research" reception. The event, hosted by Dean Joan Wick-Pelletier and Associate Dean for Research Lawrence Schell, recognized those researchers who, over the past two years, have received external funding awards to support their research.

UAlbany Wins SEFA Awards
The University at Albany was recently recognized at this year's State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) Awards Luncheon. UAlbany received two awards for achieving both the highest percent increase in employee participation and the highest percent increase in total amount raised from the previous year's campaign.
