E Phl 601 Philosophy of Education (3)

An examination of the methods of philosophy and its application to educational issues. Topics considered include social justice, moral education and theories of learning and knowledge. These topics are examined in the context of historic and contemporary philosophical writings.

E Phl 605 Epistemology and Education (3)

Relationships of epistemology to educational theories of knowing; authority, skepticism, rationalism, empiricism, mysticism, intuitionism, and pragmatism. Prerequisite: E Phl 601 or consent of department.

E Phl 606 (Aps 606) Ethics and Education (3)

Relationships of ethical and metaethical issues to educational theory. Prerequisite: E Phl 601 or consent of instructor.
