About the Editorial Collective
In Spring 2004, we published the first issue of the
student-run and peer-reviewed multidisciplinary electronic journal, transcending
silence... Now, students enrolled in AWSS 342X (Electronic
Publishing in Women's Studies) automatically become members of
the Editorial Collective (referred to as the Editorial Board from
2004 to 2007) and participate in soliciting, reviewing, editing
and publishing manuscripts and other media for the e-journal, which
is published every year in the Spring semester. During this semester-long
course, editors learn to ground their practical skills (reviewing
and editing manuscripts and other media, Dreamweaver, Photoshop,
evaluating and using blogs) in feminist theories.
"Electronic Publishing in Women's Studies" is
offered every Spring semester. It fulfills the General Education
Information Literacy requirement. Enrollment is capped at 15.
