UALBANY FACULTY SPOTLIGHT:
Dr. Kristen Hessler, UAlbany Assistant Professor of Philosophy, talks about Team-Based Learning
After trying different techniques to engage students in her large (100+ student) lecture classes, Dr. Hessler decided to try Team Based Learning (TBL), a course design and management strategy pioneered by Professor Larry Michaelsen, which incorporates extensive use of small-group activities to promote student engagement and deeper learning. Below you can follow Dr. Hessler's journey as she reflects on her first year of using TBL in her undergraduate philosophy course.
