The Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning, and Online Education (CATLOE) is a central source for teaching and learning at UAlbany.

We provide leadership and support for:

  • evidence-based, scholarly teaching
  • effective use of technology in teaching
  • the growth of online education across the University

Specialized Services

We offer a range of teaching resources and career development tools available online. Additionally, we host events, workshops and webinars each semester to support your professional and educational development.

We also provide specific services for faculty, instructional staff and graduate students who teach.

  • Early semester surveys, available until the midterm, are designed to help instructors gather student feedback on their course and make ongoing adjustments in response to concerns.
  • Customized workshops are designed and facilitated by CATLOE to address a department's specific need that require focused attention.
  • Test scanning is a service for facilitating and grading multiple-choice exams for UAlbany instructors teaching large classes.
