Sometimes an instructor wants to get greater detail from students about their learning experience than can be captured in a survey, an observation, or a videotape. For this special purpose, ITLAL can administer an in-depth interview of students in a given class, in the absence of the instructor. This allows the ITLAL interviewer to probe and ask follow-up questions that can get students to reflect more carefully about the course, the method, and their own efforts to succeed.
Instructors are asked to arrange for focus groups two weeks in advance. All focus group data are confidential unless you indicate otherwise.
