Billie Bennett Franchini's main professional interests include fostering student engagement in learning, multiculturalism in education, writing across the curriculum, and issues facing graduate teaching assistants. She moved into faculty development after two years as a high school teacher and eleven years in the University classroom. She completed a Ph.D. in English Literature at the University of Georgia in December 2007 and holds a B.A. in English and Sociology from the University of Virginia, a M.Ed. in English Education from the University of Georgia, and a M.A. in English from the Florida State University.
