The World of Writing
Designed for incoming freshmen from any major interested in writing, and in living with a community of fellow writers.
As a member of the World of Arts Living-Learning Community, you will:
- Share a residence hall, and form a community with fellow writers
- Explore ways to incorporate your passion for writing into any major
- Develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a writer through interactions with faculty, graduate students, and a variety of contemporary writers
- Participate in spoken word performances and the creation of a journal of undergraduate writing
- Meet representatives from relevant student clubs and organizations
- Learn about opportunities to work with the Writing Center and the New York State Writers Institute
- Actively participate in L-LC events (guest speaker presentations, workshops, study groups, outings) in both the fall and spring semester
- Participate in at least one community service project each semester
- Take some of your classes together with other members of your L-LC
- Form study groups for your L-LC classes
- Have lunch with your professor on a regular basis
