UAlbany Strategic Planning
During the academic year 2016‐17, the University at Albany will develop its next strategic plan. President Robert J. Jones has appointed Provost James Stellar and Chief of Staff Leanne Wirkkula to co‐lead this initiative.
The university community will have many opportunities to contribute their ideas. During the fall semester, teams will develop a number of white papers on key topics. There will also be a university‐ wide meeting to engage a large number of people in generating many ideas.
The planning effort will be open, inclusive and transparent. A small steering committee of faculty and staff will be established to guide the process.
The steering committee will begin working in late August.
Nominate a colleague, or yourself for the Strategic Planning Steering Committee (SPSC) by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org by noon on Friday, July 29th. Please include a sentence or two about why this person would be a great member of the committee. Click on the SPSC Member Profiles link in the menu at left for the types of attributes we are looking for in committee members.
The university will use design thinking – an innovative approach that first generates many possibilities, then thoughtfully narrows them down to ultimately create our guiding strategic framework. This site is a resource for all members of the university to keep informed about the strategic planning initiative. It will be updated over the course of the year.
