MDS - Frequently Asked Questions

When and where does the School of Public Health hold MDS training?We hold in-person workshops and webinar trainings throughout the year. In-person workshops are held throughout NYS. Please check the current schedules for dates and locations.

How can I register for an MDS workshop?
For In-person workshops, you can register by mail or online. Webinar registration is only online.

How can I get a registration form?
Click on the in-person workshop tab and open the current brochure pdf. Complete the registration form and mail it in with payment. Check or money order can be made payable to University at Albany.

Can I register by phone?
No, we cannot take registration by phone.

What if there isn't time to send my registration and payment before the scheduled workshop?
We will accept registration by fax (518-402-1137) only if you cannot get payment to us in time and there is room in the workshop. You will need to send your payment separately.

Can you take credit cards?
Yes, but you must register online in order to use a credit card.

How will I know where to go for the in -person workshop?
You will receive an email confirmation when your registration is received with directions attached. You must bring this confirmation to the workshop.

If I find I cannot attend the workshop, can I get a refund?
In order for you to receive a refund for a confirmed registration, we must receive your cancellation request by email before the workshop date. A $25 processing fee will be deducted from the refund. Substitutions are accepted. Email coned@albany.edu

How do I become certified in MDS?
There is no certification process for MDS that is recognized by New York State. Participants can request a certificate of attendance for our workshops and webinars.

How can I get an MDS manual?
Participants in the In-Person Workshop- MDS 3.0: An Introduction, will receive a copy of the manual. If you are interested in purchasing a copy, you can email us or call to see we have any available.
