This workshop will explore past community mapping projects using interactive web/mobile based tools and review their applications in public health. The workshop will also focus on the hands-on employment of PPGIS practices in surveying and collecting field data. Attendees will actively participate in the community mapping survey process using mobile/web-based tools to experience and contribute to the practical applications of PPGIS in public health. The field data collected will be used in creating an interactive map site and website with new chart functions to demonstrate how easily this data can be presented to the public.
9:00 am: Introduction and workshop review
9:30 am -10:30 am: Review different case studies and methodologies
10:30 am - 11:30 am : Design PPGIS interactive maps with mobile apps using Mappler Mobile
11:30 am - 2:00 pm: Field survey and Lunch
2:00 pm: Return to the lab and Review results
3:00pm - 4:00 pm Discussion
Registration Fee: $15.00 for day long course
